App MOON'S ELEMENT

With the request of the creation of an app about astrology and zodiac signs, I created an astrology app from scratch, starting with thorough competitor analysis to identify gaps and opportunities in the market.

I developed the brand identity, then crafted a detailed flowchart, wireframing, designing the UI/UX.

Challenge

The main challenges included identifying unique features to differentiate the app in a competitive market, ensuring an intuitive yet visually appealing UI/UX, and balancing aesthetic design with functionality.

Results

The final product, Moon's Element, is an innovative astrological application designed to provide users with deep insights into various aspects of life, offering a unique way to enhance self-awareness.

Unlike traditional horoscope apps, Moon’s Element stands out by analyzing the birth chart in detail, integrating astronomy and celestial movements to offer a more personalized and profound perspective on everyday life.

Process

Research & Analysis: I explored the competitive landscape of astrology apps, identifying gaps in personalization and scientific integration. Studying celestial movements and birth chart methodologies helped shape a more profound and data-driven approach. User research revealed a demand for deeper insights beyond daily horoscopes, emphasizing clarity and accessibility.

Ideation & Development: I defined the app’s unique direction, blending astronomy and astrology to create a more holistic self-awareness tool. Brainstorming sessions led to key features like interactive birth charts, real-time celestial tracking, and AI-powered readings. Mood boards and conceptual sketches helped visualize the mystical yet modern aesthetic that would define the user experience.

Architecture: The app’s navigation was designed to be fluid, ensuring users could seamlessly explore their personal traits, real-time moon phases, and in-depth astrological guides. A hierarchical structure was developed to keep complex data digestible, prioritizing clarity in the Horoscope, Birth Chart, and Moon sections. Wireframes and prototype testing refined how users interact with expandable elements, data visualizations, and cross-referenced astrological explanations.

Prototyping: Low-fidelity wireframes were tested to optimize the layout of each section, ensuring the dynamic elements felt intuitive. The prototype focused on balancing textual and visual content, integrating interactive elements like touch-based navigation for expanding moon characteristics and scrolling insights.
User feedback from early testing helped refine content placement, improving clarity and engagement across all sections.

Visual Design & Style Guide: I developed a celestial-inspired aesthetic with a deep, atmospheric color palette. Typography was chosen for both elegance and readability, ensuring astrological terms and explanations remained accessible.
A consistent UI system was created, defining button styles, animations, and transitions to unify the experience across the app’s five core sections.

SECTIONS
The app is divided into five main sections: Horoscope, Me, Guides, Moon and Birth Chart.
After logging in, the screen presents the user's characteristics.

In the ME section there will be the main characteristics and a wide typology of astral traits connected to nature, elements and other curiosities.

In the MOON section there is an expandable section where all the characteristics of the moon will be reported in real time.

In the GUIDES section there will be various scientific explanations of terms, subjects and astrological aspects that can be consulted.

In the NATAL CHART section there is the symbolic representation of the position of the plants in the precise place of the moment of the user's birth.

In the HOROSCOPE section there is the horoscope of the day, in the lower part it will also be possible to reach the two alternatives to the traditional horoscope: the Chinese one and the Aztec one.

Conclusion

Moon’s Element was designed to offer a unique, deeply personalized astrological experience by integrating real-time celestial data, structured guidance, and interactive elements. Through a carefully crafted UI/UX, the app balances aesthetics and functionality, making complex astrological insights accessible to both enthusiasts and newcomers.
